Crushed
I’ve never had my heart shatter so brilliantly.
A geode smashed to reveal all the shiny things.
Rays bursting through, then caught by you.
The prism redirects to cast an iridescent illusion.
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful until I believe it.
Concrete reflection and I sink.
It’s not the weight of the world.
It’s two worlds spinning in opposite directions.
The star that can’t fall. The satellite that never sets.
Gravity keeps them spinning and commands the light.
Reality is pouring cement at their feet.
It sets slowly as the molecules drift further apart, frozen in stillness.
